With arthrosis, degenerative-dystrophic changes develop, due to which deformation and destruction of articular tissues occurs. Let's take a closer look at what the degrees of this disease are, what their symptoms are, what nutrition should be followed, and also how the treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint is carried out.
Why does the disease develop
Arthrosis develops due to such situations:
- When joints are injured;
- The person is overweight;
- The hip joint undergoes excessive stress due to the peculiarities of work;
- Congenital malformations of the joints;
- When the joints become inflamed;
- When hormonal changes occur in the body;
- When bone is destroyed.
Symptoms of articular arthrosis
The symptoms of arthrosis of the hip joint are different for each degree of the disease:
- In the first degree of arthrosis, recurrent pain in the hip joint appears after physical exertion. After rest, they quickly disappear;
- With the second degree of arthrosis, the pain intensifies and becomes systematic. A person limps while walking. The muscles responsible for the motor function of the thigh become weak. Sometimes an x-ray can detect the appearance of cysts in the joint area;
- In the third degree of arthrosis, the patient feels severe pain in the joints even when lying down. He cannot walk without a cane. The joint is not functional. The gait changes very much.
To understand the extent of the disease, the doctor must conduct a thorough examination of the patient and schedule an X-ray. You also need to do an ultrasound of the affected joint and arthroscopy.
What is deforming arthrosis
In addition to the usual arthrosis, deforming arthrosis of the hip joint, which in other words is also called coxarthrosis, is also common. The articular cartilage becomes thinner due to overuse and loses its function.
Coxarthrosis of the hip joint develops as well as arthrosis due to injuries, microcracks, joint overload, excess weight, prolonged stress, hormonal disruptions, joint inflammation, congenital anomaly of the femoral head.
Treatment of diseases of the hip joint
Having carefully examined the patient and the results obtained, an experienced specialist understands how to treat arthrosis of the hip joint.

With conservative therapy, it is important to eliminate pain, increase joint mobility, improve cartilage nutrition, reduce pressure on the joint, activate blood circulation in it, and strengthen the surrounding tissues and muscles.
Treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint with medication is based on the intake of vasodilators, muscle relaxants, chondoprotectors, as well as the use of ointments, gels or creams.
Additionally, the first two degrees of arthrosis are treated with manual therapy, herbal medicine, physiotherapy, reflexology and gymnastics.
When a third-degree arthrosis is found in a patient, an operation is performed, in which the joint is replaced with an endoprosthesis. In this operation, the prosthesis is implanted into the thigh and pelvic bones. After surgery, the patient will need a long rehabilitation period.
An important point!Treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint at the first and second degree should be comprehensive. One treatment method will not bring the expected results.
It is useful to massage sore joints. Massage is recommended after complete elimination of acute pain sensations. After the operation, massage therapy can only be performed after removing the stitches. In this case, massage should be done only by a specialist, independent actions are strictly contraindicated.
Traditional medicine in the treatment of arthrosis
In the early stages of arthrosis, it is important to restore the motor function of the joint, as well as try to load it as little as possible. It is necessary to treat arthrosis with folk remedies under the supervision of a doctor, be sure to take into account the characteristics of the disease.
Treatment of arthrosis with folk remedies:
- Pour boiling water over the hogweed leaves and wrap them in cheesecloth. The cooled plant is applied to the sore joint;
- Make compresses alternately from white and blue clay. To do this, the clay needs to be slightly diluted with water and to achieve a uniform consistency, with which sore joints are lubricated. Wrap the top with foil and warm cloth. Keep it all night. The sutra is washed off;
- To improve the production of intra-articular fluid and activate recovery processes, it is useful to do a therapeutic massage with honey. For such treatment with folk remedies, honey is heated and melted in a water bath. The joint itself is warmed up with a heating pad. The honey is rubbed in in a circular motion. The duration of the massage is no more than 15 minutes. After the procedure, the joint is wrapped with gauze in four layers and insulated with a cloth for three hours. After a while, the honey must be washed off with warm water. The course of treatment is 10 times. The first three massages are performed daily, and the subsequent ones every other day;
- Pour 200 grams of chopped larkspur roots with boiling water (10 liters). Take a bath for 10 minutes;
- Folk remedies approved the following recipe for the treatment of arthrosis. Mash cabbage leaves a little and brush with buckwheat honey. Apply to the sore joint and insulate with foil and cloth. The compress needs to be done all night;
- Pour celandine leaves (8 tablespoons) with olive oil (1 liter). Close with a tight lid, let it brew for 14 days in a warm place. Then strain and use to rub joints and massage;
- Grind the washed burdock root. Mix it with honey and drink a tablespoon three times a day before meals;
- Celery (250 grams) should be mixed with lemons (150 grams) and garlic (125 grams). Put the resulting mixture in a jar and pour boiling water (3 liters). Leave the product warm until morning. Drink 70 grams 30 minutes before meals. In one course, you must drink no more than three three-liter cans of tincture. Before taking such a remedy, consult your doctor;
- Mix pork fat (300 grams) with white bryony (200 grams). Simmer the mixture over a fire for five minutes. Cool it down. Rub the resulting ointment into sore joints. Be sure to wrap the top with a warm cloth. The procedure is performed at night. The ointment must be stored in a cool place;
- Mix one part juniper and goldenrod with two parts nettle, sage, field horsetail, burdock root and elderflower. Also add some sweet clover, dandelion, mint, fennel, violet flowers, birch leaves and willow bark. 30 grams of the resulting mixture is poured with boiling water (500 milliliters) and placed in a warm place to infuse for at least 12 hours. Strain and drink 100 grams after meals. Oilcake is used as compresses for diseased joints. If you decide to drink such an infusion as a tea, you can drink no more than two liters per day.

It is important to rememberthat it is impossible to treat arthrosis of the hip joints with folk remedies alone. It is important to listen to the advice of doctors and follow the treatment and medication.
Osteoarthritis and diet
It is important to monitor your weight to relieve your joints. If you have extra pounds, it is recommended to reconsider the diet. It must be balanced. The body must receive alkaline food.
Nutrition for arthrosis should be as follows:
- Drink milk and fermented milk products;

Aim to drink at least two liters of fluid a day.
The diet for arthrosis of the hip joint is aimed at restoring the cartilage tissue. Only a balanced diet will help the body get all the necessary building materials for muscle mass.
It is important to eat enough wholesome food, while not overeating, but clearly monitor what and how much you eat during the day.
Prevention of arthrosis
Any disease is better prevented than cured. Therefore, it is recommended to carry out preventive measures that will help prevent the development of arthrosis:
- Newborn babies should be carefully examined by an orthopedist or surgeon. Since the sooner a congenital hip dislocation is detected, the faster and more efficiently it can be cured;
- At the first bells of the disease, it is important to immediately visit a doctor and go through all the examinations in order to diagnose arthrosis as early as possible and start treatment;
- Engage in an active lifestyle;
- In addition to a balanced diet, it is important to take dietary supplements that contain collagen. It is this component that acts on the articular cartilage and restores the articular-ligamentous apparatus.
Now you know what arthrosis of the hip joints is, what degree it is and what its main symptoms are. At the first suspicion of arthrosis, it is important to consult a doctor in order to promptly start correct and effective treatment.
In agreement with the doctor, you can carry out therapy with folk remedies. Most importantly, do not self-medicate and take care of your health.
